Using Validation to Address Aggressive Resident Behavior Expressions

Posted on July 24, 2019

Live Webinar: Tuesday, September 17th from 1pm – 2pm EST

The Validation method motivates older adults with cognitive decline to communicate more, relieve stress, and enhance dignity and happiness in their final stage of life. Join us for a webinar with Vicki de Klerk-Rubin, the Executive Director of the Validation Training Institute (VTI). VTI provides education, quality standards and easy pathways for learning this evidence-based method. This webinar will cover how the Validation method can help staff address aggressive behavior expressions by residents.

  • Webinar participants will walk away with an understanding of where “aggressive” behavior expressions come from
  • Webinar participants will be able to describe and use 3 specific strategies for responding to a resident who is expressing anger
  • Webinar participants will be able to describe and use 2 ways of protecting themselves through self-care
