Washington DC, May 1st 2012: Linked Senior Inc., a next generation technology provider helping senior care leaders improve the quality of life of their residents, announced today the addition of Dr. Rob Winningham to its Board of Advisors.  Dr.  Winningham is a professor of psychology and Chair of the Psychology Division (includes Gerontology & Psychology Departments) at Western Oregon University.  He specializes in memory and the psychology of aging.  His goal is to network with geriatric professionals to help older adults improve their quality of life.

Dr. Winningham will help the Linked Senior management team in the development of their product and strategy for the next 3-5 years, contribute his experience and knowledge to reinforce the brain health dimension of the Linked Senior service and bring his familiarity in porting the latest research to real-life, usable, person centered activities to dependent seniors.

“Linked Senior is providing an unmet need in the retirement housing industry that bridges the gap between staff and resident. As an Advisory Board member, I look forward to helping them create additional content and interventions to improve older adults’ cognitive abilities and quality of life”, states Dr. Winningham.

According to Charles De Vilmorin, Linked Senior CEO, “Dr. Rob Winningham is one of the most well versed professionals in his field. In addition to being at the top of his game and contributing to the most current research on brain health, he is  one of the only experts to have experience in taking recent research results and applying them to real life situations with seniors. His excellent communication skills  makes him an amazing trainer and team member.  It is truly an honor for Linked Senior to have such talent on our advisory board.”

Dr. Rob Winningham has nearly 20 years of experience researching applied memory issues and has conducted research on older adults for the past 15 years.  He has developed programs to improve older adults’ cognitive and physical well-being and has trained over 4000 instructors in North America to offer similar programs.  Dr. Winningham received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience in 2000 from Baylor University. In addition to publishing many peer-reviewed articles in the area of human memory and gerontology, Dr. Winningham has made television and radio appearances and has given well over 500 invited presentations about memory and aging at various conferences and workshops.
